Lazy Days

Is anybody else like me? Had to force myself to clean the kitchen and sweep and mop all the floors before I turned on my computer this morning. DJ has already headed off to the recycling depot with a trailer load of tree cuttings. The sun is shining and beckoning me to go back to vege plot and work on clearing grass and geraniums. Now where is the spade?

I'm Back

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would return to my blog after some major health issues. More on that later. We have returned to an overgrown garden. Just giving it a good cut back before spring. The geraniums are coming out of the vege patch and parsley is the first to go in when there is some room made. Cheers

Tramping

We are all set for our 13 days in Southland, New Zealand. Brother Pee-wee is expecting us. We have our packs ready, boots worn in (not really), thermals packed ready to do some real NZ hiking. Well, we'll see how it goes anyway. Just a fortnight resting amongst some beautiful scenery will suffice.

The garden is looking greener with rain that we have been getting. Our dams are still empty and we are heading to stage four water restrictions very soon. Last night I felt guilty about having a bath instead of a shower. Still when you need a soak in the tub, you need a soak in the tub!

Until next time.

Hope

Last weekend I read in the paper that the reason for our extended drought is due to the el nino effect plus the warm Indian ocean combining to send hot air stream down to us here in Australia. The good news is that the Indian ocean is cooling and we have an 80 per cent chance of rain and lots of it before April. Lets hope so.
